"I chose to pursue the occupational therapy profession because it’s a dynamic profession that allows you to help individuals that are in need. It also presents a varied of settings that you can engage in. This creates unlimited potential to excel in whatever setting the OT chooses to work in and job placement opportunities are plentiful due to the flexibility within the profession. The more I advance in this program the more I realize I made the right decision to become a occupational therapy assistant".

The paragraph above was a portion of my Credo. My future goals is to become a practicing occupational therapist assistant. I would love to work in a physical disabilities setting, possibly working with injury soldiers. I believe occupational therapist practitioners would be ideal for a injury soldier or war vet during rehabilitation. Not only the we deal with the physical being, we also address the mental, spiritual and emotional side of a human being. "Prescriptions tend to constrain the development of one's potential, whereas opportunities  nourish it. To apply prescriptions is to treat the patient as a object; to offer opportunities is to regard the patient as a person" (Ryan's Occupational Therapy Assistant).
